What you'll accomplish
By the end of this guide, you'll use AI to write a compelling therapist profile, specialty page copy, and FAQs for your private practice — professional, warm marketing content that attracts the clients you want to work with. Most therapists hate marketing copy because it feels inauthentic, but AI is surprisingly effective at getting a first draft that you then make your own.
What you'll need
Spend 10 minutes answering these questions in a notes app or piece of paper:
Keep these answers visible as you work with AI.
Write a therapist profile bio for a [Psychology Today / practice website / Zocdoc] listing.
About this therapist:
- Specialties: [list your 2-4 specialties]
- Therapeutic approaches: [your modalities in plain English]
- Client population: [who you work with]
- Style: [describe your personality as a therapist — e.g., "warm and direct" or "practical and structured" or "empathetic and curious"]
- Location: [city, state] — telehealth also available [if true]
- What I want clients to feel reading this: [e.g., "that I'll actually help them change, not just listen" or "safe enough to reach out"]
Write 250-300 words. Lead with who you help and what changes, not your credentials. End with a warm invitation to reach out. Third person.
What you should see: A profile bio that leads with client-centered language, describes your approach in plain terms, and invites connection.
If your practice website has specialty pages (e.g., "Therapy for Anxiety," "ADHD Counseling"), use AI to draft each one.
Write a specialty page for a therapist website about [your specialty — e.g., "anxiety therapy"]. This page is for potential clients who are considering therapy for anxiety.
Include:
- A brief, empathetic opening (2-3 sentences) that shows you understand what anxiety feels like
- What anxiety looks like in daily life (bullet points — recognizable to someone who hasn't been diagnosed)
- How therapy helps (your approach and what the process looks like)
- What clients can expect to gain
- A brief, warm call to action at the end
Length: 400-500 words. Warm, empathetic, non-clinical tone. No jargon.
FAQs reduce friction for potential clients and save you from answering the same questions repeatedly.
Write 8 FAQ questions and answers for a therapy practice website. The therapist is an [LMHC / LPC / LCSW] in [state] who specializes in [specialties]. The FAQ should address:
- Do you take insurance? [Your actual answer]
- What's the cost of a session? [$X per session]
- How long does therapy last?
- What is your approach?
- Do you offer telehealth?
- How do I get started?
- What if we're not a good fit?
- Is therapy confidential?
Answers should be warm and direct — potential clients are anxious about reaching out. Reassure while being honest.
Psychology Today profiles have multiple fields. Use AI for each one.
